Electronic Chart & Display Information System (ECDIS)

An ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) is an approved marine navigation, charting and information system as defined by IHO Publication S-52.  It meets the performance requirements defined in IEC 61174 and IEC 60945. The major components of an ECDIS system include a computer, display, application software and electronic chart data.

An ECDIS-N (Electronic Chart Display and Information System - Navy) is an approved marine navigation, charting and information system as defined by
Navy OPNAVINST 9420-2.  These requirements include those from IEC 60945, IEC 61174, IMO A.817 and additional requirements defined by the Navy.


To facilitate an overall ECDIS or ECDIS-N approved installation, Comark provides both computer hardware and displays which meet the applicable requirements set forth in IEC 61174 and IEC 60945. Some of these requirements include but are not limited to:
